What compensation am I entitled to?

Workers’ compensation entitles an injured worker to a range of compensation, depending on each individual injury and situation.

Weekly Compensation Payments

Weekly compensation payments are income maintenance payments that cover the cost of lost wages due to your workplace injury.  Depending on circumstances, they may be classed as Total Incapacity payments (for up to 26 weeks), or Partial Incapacity payments

Medical Treatment Costs

Workers’ compensation also covers the costs of medical treatment and other expenses relating to a compensable injury. This can include one-off appointments or ongoing treatment for your injury.

Compensation for Death

If a workplace injury unfortunately results in the death of a worker, workers’ compensation insurance can cover funeral expenses and other benefits in line with the Workers Compensation Act (1951). Dependants may also be entitled to a single lump sum payment.
